Air Products is to construct and design a CO2 Purification System in sustenance of an Oxy Fuel Technology Development Project. It will use Alstom's boiler simulation facility in Windsor, Connecticut, is to be conducted over 2 years from beginning in mid-2009, and is part of DOE's extending development of new and cost-effective technologies for the capture of CO2 from the existing fleet of US coal-fired power plants.

Air Products' CO2 Purification And Compression System is directed to achieve over 90% CO2 capture, while increasing the cost savings over other technology such as amine-scrubbing, or more expensive and complex flue gas de-sulfurisation units and de-NOxunits.The ability to do this task at lower costs is encouraging to industries with large scale CO2 emissions.

1. Hilson Filter Bag Division takeover by Orrell Filtration

Orrell Filtration is an UK manufacturer of filter sleeves/bags for Dust Extraction Equipment has takeover the Filter Bag Division of Manchester-based Hilson Ltd (formerly G Hunt Filtration Ltd), which went into management last year.Hilson Filters Bag Division sales includes stock and machinery, which has been moved to Orell filtration's Stalybridge site. All key staff were re-employed and relocated while the orellfilteration is increasing the production capacity.
